My engagement ring with my wedding band on our wedding day!
In the fall of 2009, my boyfriend and I had been together quite a while and decided that we wanted to get married. Being the traditional guy that he is, he still wanted to pick out a ring, speak to my parents, and propose in the "proper" manner. Even though I knew a proposal was coming, he wanted to make sure he didn't take away all of the element of surprise for me, so he made sure I was never aware of when he would be ring shopping, or when he was planning to propose. He even went so far as to get my best friend in on the trick. She came over to my house, and told me that my guy had sent her an email of the ring he had decided on, and she had to show me because it was bad. She pulled up the email, and the picture was of the most hideous ring. I wanted to cry! Not knowing my soon to be hubby had put her up to that, I didn't want him to know she had shown me, or hurt his feelings at all on something that was so important to him. So I decided that I would just have to deal with it, the ring isn't the important part anyway, it was being able to spend the rest of my life with the man of my dreams. Boy was I surprised in January of 2010 when he dropped down on one knee and proposed with this ring. Its the most gorgeous ring I could have imagined. The whole moment came as a complete shock. It was perfect. This ring is perfect. We were married in October of 2010, and even to this day, I still find myself staring and this beautiful piece of jewelry.
